5 • Wiring the Fan

5.1

WARNING!: All wiring must be in accordance with national and local electrical codes and ANSI/NFPA 70. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, use a

qualiﬁed electrician. Wall switches are not included. Select an acceptable general-use switch in accordance with national and local electrical codes.

To connect the wires, hold the bare metal leads together and place a wire

connector (70) over them, then twist clockwise until tight. For all these

connections use the wire connectors provided.

Connect the bare or green ground wire (grounding) from the ceiling to

the green ground wire (grounding) from the hanger bracket (2) and the

green ground wire (grounding) from the fan, or the green ground wire on

the low prole washer if you chose the low prole option.

Attention: Use the pull chain switch to set the fan

speed to the high position BEFORE installation. Do

not use pull chain switch to change the fan speed

after installation, as damage to your fan or remote

may result. e speed of the fan should only be

changed by the Hunter control. Set the ceiling fan

light kit to the ON position before installation.
